Company History

1937Sep
First chairman, the late Takajiro Michimoto, started to produce sweet potato starch.
1966Nov
While producing sweet potato starch, started to produce pickles.
1971Aug
Changed the company name and organization from Michimoto starch factory Co., Ltd to Michimoto Foods Co., Ltd.
1982Oct
Yasuyuki Michimoto assumed the office of business owner.
1985Aug
Achieved the annual shipping volume to 4,420 tons.
1988Jun
The late Takajiro received the sixth grade medal of the Rising Sun of Silver Rays.
1991Nov
Received Food and Marketing Bureau Award at the 13th food industory excellent company award.
1992Jul
Main factory acquired JAS(Japanese Agricultural Standard) certification.
1999May
Former chairman, the late Yasuyuki Michimoto received the contributors award from National Corporation Association Union.
2001Nov
Hideyuki Michimoto assumed the president.
Closed Sumiyoshi factory and unified the production base to the main factory.
2002Sep
Started five-year plans for factory improvement.
2004Dec
Acquired ISO9001:2000 (Quality Management System) certification that was the first acquisition of takuan(pickled daikon radish) industory in Kyusyu.
2011Mar
Received a prize from the minister of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries at the 32nd food industory excellent company award.
2014Nov
Received a small and medium-sized enterprise Award for 2014 from Miyazaki Prefecture.

Received an award from Miyazaki mayor for being facility in Miyazaki City with outstanding hygiene management.
2016Sep
Acquired ISO22000:2005 (Food Safety Management System) certification that was the first acquisition of takuan(pickled daikon radish) industory in Kyusyu.

Our company endeavored to produce “pickles of sun dried daikon radish - Hinatazuke” with the use of Miyazaki grown daikon radish raised in warm , sunny climate and fertile soil over 50 years since we have been started the production of pickles in 1966.
